The story of Caru' cu Bere Restaurant began in the 19th century, when, in 1879, on Calea Victoriei 2, there was a brewery called La Carul cu Bere. It was led by Ion Cabasanu and his grandsons, Ion, Gheorghe and Nicolae Mircea. The latter became recognized and continued to trade beer, in 1897 acquiring the place on 5th Stavropoleos St, where Caru' cu Beer was to be built. The place opened in June 1899, and the business flourished, the restaurant becoming, over the years, a meeting place for renowned personalities, as well as a tourist attraction.
The professional division of Bose in Romania, through its partner Viky Group Limited, played a key role in creating the ambiance of this space with historical and cultural value, with the help of the latest audio equipment.
The main challenge was the integration of audio solutions in a setting in which glass and tiles dominate.
Thus, within this new project, on the first floor, in the left and right balcony, a Bose Panaray MA12EX line array column speaker was placed, for a clear sound, provided by the 12 full-range speakers of 2.25 inch, sound that also allows having conversations.
These speakers can be mounted both indoors and outdoors, the sound being controlled in the frequency spectrum of 2 to 13 kHz over a distance of up to 20 m.
On the ground floor of the restaurant, another 7 such column speakers were installed - on the central arch, in the right-hand compartment and at the entrance on the left-hand side - contributing to the sound coverage of the space without creating a discrepancy between the equipment and the architectural and interior design elements.
In the wine cellar, 12 Bose DesignMax DM6SE speakers were installed, being divided into 4 volume zones. Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, these speakers not only provide clear sound to create a pleasant ambience in a space permanently populated by customers who want to socialize without being disturbed by the background music, but they also have a minimalist and elegant design, being easily integrated into any type of decor.
In the same wine cellar, 2 complete F1 systems were also installed, consisting of a Bose F1 Model 812 flexible array loudspeaker and a Bose F1 subwoofer. They are intended for live performances and provide great sound, regardless of the height at which they are mounted or the size of the intended space.
For the same live events, the solution we have chosen consists of Bose L1 model II, B2 bass and ToneMatch T4 mixer. The restaurant and wine cellar are also equipped with a surround sound system using the successful Bose FreeSpace 3 range, satellites and bass modules. The system is configured with independent zones for controlling the music source and volume level.
Last but not least, in the terrace area, on each of the 6 umbrellas, a Bose DesignMax DM6SE speaker was mounted, the compliance with the IP55 standard ensuring their operation outside, while the atmosphere created being not only pleasant, but also great for having conversations.
All Bose Professional equipment was mounted at a height of approximately 2.5 m, so that the sound would have an even coverage, regardless of the area in which it was installed.
As always, we are honored by the trust that our partners granted, this project having as main requirements the possibility of obtaining different sound volumes and the installation of several signal sources (both for ambient music and for bands and dancers) being another successful one for the Bose professional division in Romania.
